BEEP project - Energy efficiency grant funding opportunity for County Durham

As accountants we see businesses waste thousands of pounds each year on unnecessary energy usage. It may be due to an ageing, poorly insulated building, inefficient use of heating systems or simply lights and electrical equipment being left on unnecessarily.

Businesses in County Durham could benefit from grant support to address these issues.

Durham County Council have recently launched the BEEP Business Energy Efficiency Project which can provide businesses with:

·         access to a free energy audit to identify potential savings

·         grant support of up to 40% towards investment in energy efficient equipment to address the areas identified by the initial audit

The scheme is open to SMEs (fewer than 250 employees) with a minimum 12-month trading history and who have not utilised their €200,000 de-minimis state aid allowance over the past three years.
