Yorkshire Shadow MPC – November 2024

Date posted: 5th Nov 2024

Experts from different sectors in and around York took part in the Yorkshire Shadow MPC.

The Shadow MPC is a partnership between Clive Owen LLP and The York Press, which considers the region’s economy and invites business figures to argue their case for a shift, or hold, in the rate.

Members voted as a majority for a reduction in interest rates, discussing the recent announcements made in the Autumn Budget, as well as the uncertainty that still remains over the state of the UK economy.

Director, Jonathan Doyle discussed his decision, commenting on the increase in the National Minimum Wage, which could knock back SMEs that had only just recovered from the last rise.

We would like to thank, Gary Smith, Steve Lowe, Richard Peak, Beckie Hart and Dave Broadbent for being part of this conversation and to Recognition PR for facilitating.
