Clive Owen LLP, a leading independent firm of accountants and business advisors, has supported award-winning charity The Angel Trust with its Christmas Toy Appeal.
Colleagues from across Clive Owen LLP’s five offices in Darlington, Durham, York, Middlesbrough and Newcastle donated toys, hygiene products and gifts in support of the appeal which runs through the winter months. Elliot Pole, Marketing Executive at Clive Owen LLP, spearheaded the firm’s charitable campaign, which brought in donations of goods worth in excess of £1,000.
After initially contacting The Angel Trust, the Clive Owen team arranged for flyers to be put on display at each of office, listing the items the charity needed most, including hats, gloves and shower gels. Added to this, the firm called upon other local businesses at its final Darlington Breakfast Club networking event of a busy 2024, with attendees coming out in support with a host of donations.
Based in Bishop Auckland, The Angel Trust offers support and guidance to vulnerable adults and children across the North East. Recently recognised as Charity of the Year at the County Durham Together Awards, it runs a calendar of charity events and fundraisers throughout the year.
The charity’s staff and volunteers operate a range of services including a foodbank, clothing centre and a soon to be opened café. It has also recently opened a safe-space hub, which is open for 24/7 support allowing a place for vulnerable people to seek refuge and guidance on a range of issues from dealing with debt to battling mental health issues.
Clive Owen LLP has always supported charity, with a particular focus in recent years thanks to the launch of an internal strategy team that are responsible for fundraising and volunteering. Having raised over £10,000 for charities across the year, the firm was keen to continue its efforts over the festive period.
Clair McGregor, Chief Executive of The Angel Trust, said, “We are incredibly grateful for the kind donations from the Clive Owen team, which will go towards gift boxes for children and vulnerable adults over Christmas. The firm’s generosity is testament to its ethos of giving back to the local community and we look forward to working more with Clive Owen in the New Year and beyond.”
Elliot Pole, added: “It has been wonderful to see such an outpouring of support for the Angel Trust Toy Appeal. It is inspiring and heartwarming that the guests at our most recent Breakfast Club were happy to contribute to such a meaningful cause, ensuring many vulnerable people will wake up to a gift on Christmas.
“Everyone at Clive Owen LLP is proud to play a small role in helping local families during the festive season.”
