The 12th annual report includes data from just under 300 Trusts representing over 2,300 schools and reflects on another unique year for the sector.
The report provides benchmark analysis data for primary and secondary academies and multi – academy trusts, alongside regionalised data, from some on the largest MAT’s that are non-Kreston clients.
Chris Beaumont, partner, is one of the authors of the report and has worked with the academy sector for over 16 years.
Our academies team act for educational establishments of all shapes and sizes, including converter and sponsored academies, free, independent schools and University Technical Colleges (UTC).
Whilst the financial year started with significant additional costs, including pay increases and the energy crisis, additional funding meant that fewer schools reported an in year deficit.
The report indicated that financial health varies widely from Trust to Trust. Trusts dealt with and continue to face challenges around economic political and societal factors facing the sector.
Overall growth in MAT’s slowed down as trusts addressed financial challenges, both internally and externally.
Academy specialists, Kevin Shotton and Chris Beaumont have produced an overview of the report, which you can view below.
