Clive Owen LLP, one of the North’s leading independent accountancy and business advisory firms, has strengthened its growing Newcastle office following a series of senior appointments.
The practice has welcomed Tax Director, Elizabeth Rothery, and Corporate Tax Manager, Aaron Larvin, both of whom possess a wealth of experience at Big Four and national firms, further enhancing Clive Owen LLP’s burgeoning tax division.
Elizabeth has worked in private client taxation for nearly two decades, managing the tax affairs of wide range of clients, from private business owners and entrepreneurs to land-owning families. She has worked predominately at Big Four and national firms, advising clients in succession planning and Inheritance Tax, while specialising in supporting high-net-worth individuals, including several high-profile clients listed on The Sunday Times Rich List, to deliver challenging projects and transactions.
After qualifying with a national firm, Aaron spent four years working at an independent practice, providing corporation tax compliance services to owner managed businesses and international groups. Over the course of his career, he has built strong working relationships with clients and helped to identify and deliver value-added services, including R&D tax relief opportunities and enhanced capital allowance claims, supporting and navigating businesses through complex processes.
These latest significant appointments follow the successful launch of Clive Owen LLP’s Newcastle office in October, which added to its already well-established offices in Darlington, Durham, York, and Middlesbrough.
Located at The Spire on Pilgrim Street in the city centre, the Newcastle office is led by Tax Partner Stephen Harris, who joined Clive Owen LLP in October. Stephen possesses more than 15 years’ experience working in corporate tax with owner-managed businesses and entrepreneurial clients, and previously held senior positions at national firms.
Elizabeth Rothery, Tax Director at Clive Owen LLP, said: “I am delighted to have joined Clive Owen LLP at a period of great excitement, buoyed by the recent investment in the Newcastle office. I look forward to contributing to the growth of our presence on Tyneside and working with clients to help them achieve their financial goals and ambitions.”
Aaron Larvin, Corporate Tax Manager at Clive Owen LLP, said: “I have known and worked with Stephen over the course of my career and am excited to join a firm renowned for its dynamism and excellence across the North. I look forward to contributing to the long-term success of Clive Owen LLP’s tax offering in Newcastle and across the firm.”
David Baggaley, Tax Partner at Clive Owen LLP, added: “Elizabeth and Aaron join at an exciting time for the firm as we continue to grow and invest in our people, demonstrated by our latest expansion in Newcastle. Their specialist knowledge and experience working for Big Four and national firms complements our well-established and respected tax division and will further enhance our service offering as we continue to build on our recent period of expansion.”
