Career History
I have worked in private client taxation for over 19 years, predominantly with Big 4 and national firms.
I started my career at EY preparing tax returns for high-net-worth London clients. I then spent 10 years at PwC in the private client team looking after the tax affairs of ultra-high net worth individual and families. Thereafter I have worked at both PE backed and independent firms which has given me some great experience of dealing with a wide range of clients.
Qualifications
I am a member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation (CIOT)
Experience and expertise
I specialise in working with high-net-worth individuals, including private business owners, entrepreneurs and land owning families to manage their tax affairs. I have a particular interest in succession planning and Inheritance Tax.
Professional memberships
I am a member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation.
Career highlights
I was pleased (and relieved) to pass my tax exams first time.
I have also had the benefit of working with many high-profile clients, including individuals featured on The Sunday Times Rich List, on challenging projects and transactions during my career.
Did you always want to be an accountant?
Certainly not, but thankfully I have found working in private client tax a rewarding career as I have the opportunity to build relationships with interesting clients and support them through key life decisions where tax is often not the main driver.
Hobbies and interests
All my hobbies and interests have been sidelined since my children came along. I spend most of my free time taking them to football training/matches or various social events!
