Since appointing Clive Owen LLP we have been very impressed with the level of support provided, not only with the yearend audit and responsible officer roles, but also as a general sounding board. Chris Beaumont has attended a number of meetings where he has explained accounting and auditing matters in a refreshingly none jargon manner enabling Governors and Staff to fully understand the issues applicable to us. Given the complex nature of the Academies income streams, VAT was a particular concern, and whilst it has been an issue Chris’s colleagues has helped guide us through this tax minefield, not only helping us complete the actual returns, but also aiding our understanding through onsite training.
